Comment on the American election

A pit bull was defeated by a shepherd. Their seconds were a grim executioner and a lioness who can roar. We will be protected but also able to be properly riled up. The metaphors are auspicious. It was terrifying while it lasted. Don't take us sheep for granted.

Or: The loser was a noisy backed up toilet in a gilded washroom. The winner has all the excitement of a washroom attendant. He is expected to present a clean house. We are all expected to find this boring reality reassuring. We were sold the exciting prospect of a return to normality after the noisy interlude of the madness of an enfant not so much terrible as horrible. Perhaps some of his supporters will clamor for novelties that this conservative elder statesman will introduce in his discrete and genteel manner.
