A short primer on the ideology of American corporate liberalism

People come in different types, and these are given by Census categories: types, defined as nationality, race, or ethnicity (sometimes by ancestral language: the Hispanic and Arab peoples, for example, who ultimately just are all the native speakers of those languages and their descendants); religion; and gender and sexuality.

All of these matter ultimately and not at all. Ultimately, because these are protected identities. No one outside the group may say anything, critical or not, of them. They themselves are expected to maximally cultivate their identity and difference as members of the population category group. Hello, code name white, I'm middle name black.

In this way, social conflict is rendered maximal, but unsolveable, since what we agree about is determined by 'what' we are. And people can change their opinions but not their DNA or skin. And that is what you must be right or wrong about.

(The angry white male crazy terrorists who commit these sickening crimes are ideologically inverting and rendering in their horribly ridiculous form a discourse that excludes them, and which they invert: now, they want to say, the former or supposed 'oppressors' are really 'oppressed' by their victims. The logic is imbecilic, and this is what they so inarticulately demonstrate, these men who think only spectacular violence ‘speaks’ when it fact it is quite dumb).

No other differences matter. Ideology matters, but only in this way: There is one right way of thinking and acting. Even if people don't all agree about what it is. No tolerance is needed towards these differences. This is because when you come here and join the company, you set aside everything that makes you unique and defines who you are as a person, except your group membership identity. This is treated like international foods. It is a meaningless difference yet beautiful. Basically, you are invited to march in your nation's heritage parade with its colorful peasant costumes.

Americans are not tolerant, just inclusive of meaningless cultural particularities based on the ways people are officially counted and categorized by the government.

Ideology and nationality come together again in wars. Most modern wars are fought in the name of ideologies, whose differences are moralized, and against a civilian populace.

But then capital owes nothing to labor power, and its forms must be as free as the latter is contained and controlled.

Neo-liberalism effected the ideological defeat of the anti-capitalist, socialist left by pseudo-radical (meaning, in part, angry) identity politics discourses that pretended to improve and replace it. 'Cultural Marxism' is in fact the better and needed idea. The culture of capitalism is what most needs to be criticized and transformed as far as culture and forms and style of life and thought are concerned.

The two great challenges of governance in our time are: how can the global elites and billionaire class of a few hundred people rule a world of billions, all of us its potential enemies of it, and secondly, how can they find a policing solution to global warming and the finite character of oil resources that preserves capitalism? The hopeful answer is that they cannot do either. This remains perhaps to be seen.

So far, capital is still winning. It has been winning by creating a culture of 'artificial negativity' and false radicalisms. Their only virtue is to democratize by gender and color the corporate world and its rulers. But people are driven not by their body types but how they think. And that is usually most driven by the materiality of social position. A boss by any other appearance or type of person is still a boss.
